The rules and regulation should be followed by all members within the DOSARP Community. Failure to follow these will result with disciplinary action. If you have any further questions about these, please contact a staff member in our discord.
These rules apply to everyone, including staff. If you see someone breaking any of these rules and regulations, report them in-game via /report or in a discord ticket.
RP = Roleplay
OOC = Out-of-character
LOOC - Local Out-of-character
IC = In Character
AOP = Area of Play
LE = Law Enforcement
LEO = Law Enforcement Officer
(C)EMS = (County) Emergency Medical Services
(C)FD = (County) Fire Department
CTow = County Tow
No Disrespect to others is tolerated. This refers to all kinds of disrespect and discrimination, including but not limited to: Racism, Homophobia, Xenophobia.
Departments are Whitelisted. You must have applied, have been accepted and then trained before roleplaying as an LEO or Fire/Medical Staff.
Abusing Exploits and cheating is not allowed. Exploiting in-game mechanics or using 3rd party software/ trainers is strictly prohibited.
Text Chat Spam. Keep non-relevant communications over in-game text chat to a minimal, especially with respect to the use of global /ooc. For troubleshooting, contact server staff via discord.
Languages. You are required to communicate in English with other players on the server at all times.
Age restrictions. You must be at least 15 years old to play on the server.
By joining our server, you agree to play a somewhat thought-through character with a little backstory. You should also understand that whenever you engage in a roleplay scenario you should be able to explain a component of the following: why you initiated this scenario; how you ended up in the scenario; how your character's personality/existence ties into the scenario. Unfortunately, common sense cannot be taught, so we respectfully ask that all players exhibit a degree of common sense.
Examples of breaking this policy:
Wearing “Call of Duty” (Tactical Military) type clothing as a civilian for no realistic reason.
Exiting your vehicle on a simple traffic stop and just hitting the police officer.
Unnecessary escalation of force (your weapon should be your last option to escape).
"Cop-baiting" Falls under no-nonsense policy
Note:
All Staff Members reserve the right to invoke Rule Zero (No-Nonsense Policy) where they believe the RP scenario to be low effort and/or disruptive to the session as a whole.
Random Deathmatch (RDM) is the intentional killing of another player in the absence of a legitimate, in-character motivation or prior interaction (often refered to as "Initiation of RP") that would reasonably warrant killing another player.
Notes:
Iniation of RP: An example case that would allow for the killing of another player that would NOT be regarded as RDM is the following: You and another player have had multiple in-character verbal alteracations.
Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM) is the intentional killing, or striking, of another player with a vehicle of any sort in the absence of a legitimate, in-character motivation or prior interaction (often refered to as "Initiation of RP") that would reasonably warrant using a vehicle as a weapon.
Meta-Gaming
Using information that was obtained through out-of-character channels, such as Discord, and using it in-character.
Power-Gaming
Exploiting/using game functions or game bugs to allow or deny a player of an action or item that would otherwise be (un)available to them or yourself
Example: Entering an apartment in the middle of an active RP scenario to stash items and avoid losing them this way (This does not apply to actual purchased properties).
Notes:
Attempting to evade the anti-AFK system is considered a violation of this rule.
It is paramount for the experience of all players that you remain in character at all times in all in-game forms of communication.
The use of OOC chat is only permitted in the event something happens that severely disrupts roleplay or if you are stuck in a location due to a game bug (so not jail).
For the use of Local OOC chat the same rules apply, however this may also be used in the event that something has to be cleared up between players OOC (Don't complain about rules breakers etc in OOC).
For the purpose of this rule, die/dying refers to the playerstate (HP being 0) or bleeding out rather than actually being dead in RP.
New Life Rule (NLR)
If your character is injured and bleeds out, you must roleplay that your character has forgotten the events and individuals involved in the scenario that resulted in their death.
You may also not immediately return to the general area that you died in or re-involve yourself with the scenario in which you died.
Roleplaying Injuries
If your character is injured in any way, you must roleplay these injuries to some degree.
Example: You have been shot in the head, but do not want to permanently kill your character, you do not have to RP being shot in the head, but do have to RP being shot in general.
Permanent Death
If your character is injured in any way, shape or form, it is up to yourself whether or not you want your character to die forever (in RP) or not.
If you want to permanently kill your character, you must make this clear with a message in OOC chat. E.g. by saying "Perma death".
If you do decide to permanently kill a character, do understand that you may never roleplay with that character again, this action can not be undone.
When threatened by another player(s) with death or serious injury, all characters must show a degree of fear for their life and concern for their safety/ well-being. You may fight an attacker if there is a possibility to do so but keep in mind that you can’t be a hero every time.
Exemption: if someone threatens you from a vehicle, you do not have to comply and may attempt to run away or fight back.
Example:
If you are in a bank and 5 armed bank robbers walk into the bank and actively point firearms at you, comply with their orders and don't try to pull out a weapon yourself.
Using Discord or other third party voice communication while in-character is not allowed.
You may only communicate / share information via in-game Roleplay mechanics such as:
Handheld Radio
Mobile Phone
Voice chat
Combat Logging
Leaving the server while actively engaged in a fight of any kind with any other players to avoid your character from dying or losing items/money.
Leaving to Avoid Roleplay (LTARP)
Leaving the server while actively engaged in a roleplay scenario or to avoid in-game punishment such as jail time.
If your game crashes during any of the scenarios mentioned above, make an effort to rejoin the server as soon as possible or notify the players involved or a member of the staff team through our Discord if you are unable to do so.
Any character that has a job with any whitelisted government agency/department may NOT, at any point in time, engage in any type of criminal activity that, if caught, would result in any amount of jail time.
If a character with a job in any whitelisted government agency/department is caught with any type of criminal activity that does not result in any amount of jail time, they may only be punished per the guidelines set by their respective agency/department.
During any criminal roleplay scenarios where a group of multiple criminals is working together towards one shared goal, the group may at no point in time exceed 6 people.
Any individuals that have been injured, knocked down or died during the scenario are still considered a part of the criminal group.
Groups involved in large scale criminal roleplay scenarios that would logically have more than 6 people, such as street races and car meets, are permitted to have more than 6 members.
Civilian Stalking ("Civ Stalking" or "Civ Tailing") is the act of following another player within the game without a valid in-character reason that aligns with DOSARP's roleplay standards. If tailing lasts for an extended period (i.e. 15+ Minutes), communicate with the other player using OOC to ensure it is based on valid reasons.
It is prohibited to: do any kind of roleplay that is of extremely poor quality, to exhibit behaviour that disrupts roleplay or perform any type of action that would be extremely unrealistic.
Notes:
Staff reserve the right to determine whether or not your roleplay is of extremely poor quality and what is extremely unrealistic.
So called "rat-strats" (cheeky ways to lose pursuing police officers) that require you to jump a large/ high distance with a vehicle are a violation of this rule.
This is a complete list of the server-specific rules designed to keep the style of Roleplay within the vision of DOSARP:
Non-members may not use explosives in any of their RP scenarios.
Member Exemptions:
Members may use explosives in their RP scenarios.
Member (Definition): A "member" is a player who has applied for membership or received it by joining any whitelisted agency/department. Members have greater levels of access to scripts such as scenemenu, freecam, fire script and pmms.
Clothing that is specifically made for whitelisted agencies/departments or companies may only be worn by those who work for these agencies/departments or companies.
A player who is actively working (on duty) for an agency/department or company must wear the clothing of their respective agency/department or company.
Clothing items that are clearly made for server staff members may only be worn by those in the staff team who are actively performing staff duties. This includes, but is not limited to: high-vis vests with "server staff", "moderator" or "admin" on them.
Notes:
There is an exemption in place to this rule for plain-clothed police officers.
Alternative Characters or "alt characters" refers to any character that is created after your first character.
It is allowed to create and roleplay using more than one character, however, it is forbidden to share items, money, vehicles, in-game knowledge or anything else between any of your own characters or somehow use 2 or more characters at the same time.
Characters may not be transferred between players.
When robbing another player, you may only steal items that that player has in their inventory.
You must have a prior interaction to a person you wish to rob in order to prevent random and unplanned robberies (of other players).
You may not force a player to:
Transfer any vehicle or house to you
Let you into their apartment to steal items or money
Transfer money from one bank account to another (this includes crypto)
To withdraw any amount of money from a bank to cash
Purchase items from stores that are not available to you (Example: police armoury)
The report system is in place to allow players to report other players without disrupting roleplay. It is therefore, not permitted to inform others that you have made any reports (FailRP/Speaking OOC).
It is not permitted to spam reports, make false reports or argue within reports.
A point of interest refers to any location that has a function. Examples: money laundering lcoations, black marktet NPCs or drug picking locations.
It is forbidden for all players to camp any points of interest with the intention of robbing, harming or arresting other players.
The use of any type of NSFW content is strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to: (half)naked characters, sexual images/videos and links to adult websites.
While a player is wearing a mask you may not identify their character by their voice.
While on a phone call or in a radio channel with another player you may not identify their character by their voice.
Note:
Players connected to RTO radio channels (Government frequencies) can identify characters within that channel by voice.
Erotic Roleplay (ERP)
Any kind of sexual interaction is prohibited. Even in the case where both parties consent to engaging in this behaviour, and especially where this is not the case.
This includes the use of in-game emotes that hints to any kind of sexual activity.
Mental Health Crisis
Roleplay that involves any severe complications regarding mental health is prohibited. This includes but is not limited to: self-harm, suicide, suicidal ideations, eating-disorders.
Note:
With staff notifications, you may be allowed to break this rule for certain scenarios if the staff member deems it to be in 'good taste' and unlikely to be upsetting for other players.
Hitman Roleplay
Hitman Roleplay is not permitted on DOSARP due to its tendency to be confused with RDM.
Report Policy
We handle reports on an "innocent until proven guilty" basis. This means that a player will not be suspected of any wrongdoing unless sufficient evidence is provided. If you are unable to provide any evidence related to your report the staff member handling your report may make minimum effort to find out if the reported player is guilty of any wrongdoing by using server logs or by speaking to the other player. If the staff member can not get definitive proof of this, your report will be voided and you will not be eligible for any type of refund.
When creating a report about an in-game event, we also recommend opening a report ticket in Discord to easily share any evidence of wrongdoing with the staff member handling your report.
Refund Policy
If you lose any in-game item, money or vehicle due to a player breaking server rules or a game bug you may open a ticket in our Discord to request a refund of these items. In both cases, the staff team will require proof of the cause of the lost items. If you are unable to provide any proof, your refund request will be denied.
Recording is permitted and encouraged at any point on the server. Intentionally showing the community in a negative light will result in removal from the community. If you have a problem with something please contact server staff who will try their best to resolve any issues.
Any person using any server, platform or service that is owned, maintained or managed by DOSARP may be recorded at any time, however, the person recording may not use a recording of a person with malicious intent.
